Arising, Women in Nature

http://www.arising.ca arising is dedicated to bringing women together to connect, create and inspire one another in a natural environment. arising hopes to empower women by cultivating confidence to create and fulfill their dreams

arising programs are crafted around 3 interwoven roots. In all of our programming we strive to incorporate aspects of all three roots: community capacity building, holistic health and living with the earth.

arising invite's women of all ages and walks of life to participate in these valuable experiences.

arising modifies specific trips for women from "at risk" populations, such as violence prevention for "at risk" female youth and holistic programming for consumers survivors of the mental healthcare system.

arising will tailor programs for groups or organizations who are seeking unique retreat opportunities. We can offer a variety of specialized workshops such as yoga, canoeing, meditation, hands on identification of wild foods and medicine, expressive art, dance, music making, team building facilitation and much more to enrich a group's specific needs.

Programs take place in the heart of the Ottawa Valley. Locations vary depending on the particular program. Time is spent on the organic and sustainable Half Moon Farm, on the Madawaska River and in Algonquin Park

An arising experience offers the possibility of

  • crafting herbal healing products from wild plants
  • cooking wholesome fresh organic vegetarian meals communally
  • practicing yoga and meditation
  • creative art projects
  • canoeing & wilderness skills
  • most importantly, having fun.

In order to explore wholeheartedly, arising asks that all participants come with a willingness to learn and an adventurous spirit. With that in mind, no canoeing or camping experience is required.

The women of arising have been working with groups in a wilderness setting for years. They bring a variety of skills, knowledge and certifications in the areas of yoga, meditation, local organic gardening & cooking, wild crafting, canoeing, wilderness skills, first aid, and natural history.
